OOC Conflicts

Ultimately, if everyone got along, there would be few problems and we wouldn't need rules. Unfortunately, this is not an ideal world or ideal MUX and conflicts will arise. There are, however, steps that everyone can take to minimize and neutralize interpersonal conflicts and issues:

  • end your part in a problem situation by refusing to be an active part in the conversation or situation by moving off to another location, halting your end of the conversation or even logging off for a period of time;
  • avoid future contact with those who you don't get along with; and/or
  • pagelock the individual(s) in question.

Once these steps have been taken, if the situation escalates, staff should be contacted via @mail to *staff (or via pages if there is an on-duty staff member connected at the time — see the "+staff" listing).

Please note that 'complaints' posted to bboards, voiced on-channel, mass-paged, mass-@mailed or voiced in any other public way will be removed or stopped by staff and likely treated as a breach of policy.

Please note that all active participants in an altercation (e.g. anyone who does not remove themselves from an argument, who tosses insults and baits others, etc.) may find themselves to be the target of disciplinary action, even if they are the one who submitted the complaint (at the staff's
discretion). Basically: don't add fuel to the fire, file a complaint and expect to walk off blameless. Take steps to remove yourself from the situation, sooner rather than later, and it keeps things much simpler to deal with.

Nexus is a place to relax, have fun and enjoy RP. Please try to keep conflicts out of the equation and just play nice. If players find they cannot get along, staff will ask them to pagelock each other. If people cause too much trouble,they may be asked to leave the game outright. Hopefully this doesn't happen!
